| What is Canine influenza? Dog flu is a highly contagious respiratory disease that is now in our area. It is spread by respiratory secretions in the air and by contaminated surfaces. All dogs that come into contact with the secretions contract the canine influenza with 80% showing mild forms of the disease (coughing, sneezing, lethargy and respiratory congestion) and approximately 10% develop pneumonia- a potentially deadly disease. Luckily there is a canine influenza vaccine, and we carry it! |
